Help collect and analyze water samples throughout the Dry Run Creek (Cedar Falls).
Volunteers will be grouped together and assigned several water monitoring locations. After a brief training on water monitoring procedures, groups will be sent out to collect water samples and field data. Volunteers will need to work together, travel a short distance, walk to the site, and follow basic steps for the analysis. Upon successful completion, volunteers will return field equipment and data.
No past experience is needed. All necessary training and equipment will be provided. If under 18, a parent or guardian will be needed to sign liability waiver. If special accommodations are needed, please contact the Black Hawk SWCD. The event will take place rain or shine so volunteers will need to dress appropriately for spending a couple hours outside.
