Have you always wondered how housing organizations gather data and information about the need for programs?
The annual Point in Time Census is taking place January 24th 2024 from 5pm to 12am. Local Homeless Providers & Stakeholders will survey the community to conduct the PIT census. Staff and volunteers are tasked with going into the community to observe the number of people experiencing homelessness and provide resources.
Volunteers work in teams of 2 or 3 with staff and/or community partners and survey 1-2 counties in the 17-county area. Teams will travel to parks, businesses, and other identified areas to look for people who might be experiencing homelessness.
17 county area includes Allamakee, Bremer, Butler, Buchanan, Chickasaw, Clayton, Howard, Fayette, Winneshiek, Kossuth, Winnebago, Hancock, Franklin, Cerro Gordo, Worth, Mitchell and Floyd.
