Who We Are
Friends of the Family is a private non-profit agency serving 22 counties in Northeast Iowa. Our mission is to provide safe shelter, confidential services, and housing assistance to individuals and families affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, and homelessness. Our vision is everyone has a home.
What We Do
The programs and services that Friends of the Family offers are:
- Emergency Safe Shelter
- The Safe Shelter is available to our clients whose immediate safety is at-risk
- Clients will receive services, support and case management
- Housing
- The housing programs are for clients that are at-risk of becoming homeless due to economic hardship, domestic and sexual violence; or individuals who are experiencing homelessness or on the verge of becoming homeless
- We will work to provide housing assistance and case management to help the client remain in their home or find a new home
- Crisis Line that is open 24/7 365 days a year
