The Black Hawk Soil and Water Conservation District is partnering with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and Cedar Valley Water Watchers to host a volunteer water monitoring event. This event will help gather water quality data on the Dry Run Creek watershed located in the Cedar Falls area.
Volunteers will meet at the Cedar Falls Tourism and Visitors Bureau at 9:00 a.m. Individuals will be grouped together and assigned several water monitoring locations within Cedar Falls. After a brief training on IOWATER monitoring techniques, groups will then be sent out to collect water samples and field data.
This event will take place rain or shine so please dress accordingly. Individuals, families, and groups (both large and small) are all welcome. No previous experience is necessary, equipment and training will all be provided.
