Encampment to Housed is an innovative initiative designed to provide rapid, person-centered intervention for individuals living in encampments in Waterloo. FOF staff will work to house individuals to ensure our vision of everyone has a home. Volunteers will support this project after individuals are housed. They will help to ensure individuals have gotten their belongings out of the encampment and begin to clean up the encampment.
Tasks include:
- Travel and locate encampment and ensure the area is vacant
- Locate and compile items for clients to ensure no belongings are lost.
- Clean and restore the former encampment sites
This project is in partnership with the City of Waterloo. Volunteers will lead the encampment clean up efforts to promote safety, public health and fostering trust within our communities.
