Together For Youth

Young Parents Together (YPT) is an adolescent parent education and support program designed collaboratively and specifically for expectant and parenting teens and their children and young adults expectant for the first time. YPT increases knowledge during pregnancy, childbirth and parenting so that children born to adolescents will have healthier outcomes. This collaborative community project has evolved and improved to meet the needs of children and teen parents for over two decades with community support. YPT utilizes effective curricula to meet the various needs of expectant and parenting adolescents.

YPT provides individualized education and support as well as group education and support. Young Parents Together meets at the NorthEast Iowa Food Bank on Mondays starting at 4pm. They are able to receive a free meal, time with other participants, and education to prepare them to have a healthy pregnancy, birth, and also parenting education after the birth of their child.
