Share your time and their talents with one of the oldest nonprofits in the Cedar Valley. We are looking for individuals who would guide the future of our organization by becoming an active member of our board of directors. Meeting are once a month on the first Monday of month at noon.
We specialize in offering licensed and accredited child care to working-class families who could not otherwise afford it. We provide child-care services for up to 100 children from nearly as many families. Families in Waterloo with children enrolled at Growing Minds are more culturally and racially diverse than those of any other private child-care center in the city. Moreover, we sponsor more financial assistance to families than other Waterloo facilities because a higher proportion of their enrollees qualify for it. Ninety percent of their enrollment consists of children from families that qualify for aid. This proportion is inverse from that of most other private child-care centers in the Valley. An important thing to know is that many of these families find our services essential for them to seek employment in the community and sustain a family income.
In 2023 we changed our name to Growing Minds Early Learning Center. This name change signifies the organization's commitment to empowering families, fostering educational opportunities, and transforming lives within our community.
Although our name has changed, our commitment to supporting low-income families remains steadfast. We will continue to provide affordable child care services that prioritize the well-being, safety, and educational development of each child in our care. By offering comprehensive programs, nurturing environments, and supportive resources, we aim to empower families and break the cycle of poverty.
