Description

Cedar Valley Makers (CVM) is a non-profit, member organization with a focus on learning and making. We promote collaborative learning, creative design and manufacturing (making) for people of all ages and skill levels.  We’re able to accomplish this by providing access to tools, machines and training inside our makerspace.

Volunteers are needed to assist with our community educational events that focus on learning by doing, design thinking and entrepreneurial spirit. As a volunteer you’ll be a learner and mentor. You’ll first learn about the tools, equipment and support software in our level 1 Fablab.  These tools include laser engravers, 3D printers, Cricut vinyl cutters and other easy to use tools.  After learning and making with our equipment, you’ll be asked to assist as a guide or mentor for youth and adult groups using our space for educational events. Volunteer mentors will also have access to the level 1 space and equipment for personal use during normal hours of operation when events are not taking place.

A typical CVM event lasts approximately two hours and there are approximately six events in the fall of the year and six in the spring of the year. If interested, please send an email message to info@cedarvalleymakers.org to set up a time for a makerspace tour and conversation.
