To construct one 30 x 72 seasonal high tunnel system in a food desert community on Jackson & Oneida Street in Waterloo. Purpose of Seasonal High Tunnel System- High tunnels protect plants from severe weather and allow farmers to extend their growing seasons – growing earlier into the spring, later into the fall, and sometimes, year-round.
Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity will be on site to help lead the group. Here are the major responsibilities: Lifting, use of a power drill, climbing ladders, hammering, and pouring concrete.
