Purpose
Bring a team to pick up and deliver donated furniture items to clients in the community
Responsibilities
- Complete orientation and agree to follow volunteer policies pertaining to the area of community service being provided
- Load and unload mattresses from donor’s homes & our warehouse and deliver them to client’s homes
- Communicate gratitude to all donors
- Listen and pray with clients during the drop off appointments, if appropriate
- Communicate with the Connection Center Coordinator regarding the status of your volunteer experience after service completed
- Collect client signature on Love INC release forms and return office copy to Love INC
- Communicate extended times you are unavailable to serve in your volunteer role to the Programming Manager
- Maintain client confidentiality
- Maintain a positive attitude with staff, volunteers and clients
Qualifications
- Be available to volunteer at least one day bi-monthly; average 3 hours of service per deployment
- Ability to to follow directions or navigate our service area using a personal GPS
- Ability to lift and maneuver heavy or awkward objects
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Ability to problem solve
- Empathetic, non-judgmental attitude
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team, and a willingness to accept instructions from a team leader
