Small Item Delivery Volunteer

Purpose

Pick up goods from partner churches and deliver them to client’s homes on an every other week rotation

Responsibilities

1. Read training documents prior to starting deliveries and discuss responsibilities with Clearinghouse Coordinator
2. Follow directions to partner churches to pick up goods from a variety of partner churches and deliver to client’s homes or jobs
3. Load and unload pre-packed boxes of goods from your vehicle
4. Communicate with the GAP Ministry volunteer which boxes you are picking up
5. When appropriate, listen and pray with the clients
6. Following the route, send a brief report of the success of the delivery route
7. Maintain a positive attitude with staff, volunteers, and clients

Qualifications

1. Reliable vehicle
2. Available to delivery at least bi-weekly, for approximately 2 hours per shift
3. Willingness to follow volunteer policies
4. Ability to follow directions or use a GPS to navigate
5. Ability to lift boxes of up to 20lbs
6. Ability to remain calm under pressure
7. Comfortable interacting with partner churches and clients
8. Empathetic, non-judgemental attitude
9. Ability to work independently
10. Maintain client confidentiality
11. Reliable and dependable
