What does the organization need?

Purpose: To engage with students after school through purposeful programming to build achievement, belonging and relationships.

Responsibilities:

• Be available for activites, conversations, and mentoring relationships as available throughout the school year.
• Developing and implementing programming within the established guidelines.
  
• Nurture children through purposeful programming to build achievement, belonging and relationships.
• Visits by volunteers would be prearranged with site lead. Programming will need to be authorized by YD Developement department

Training: We will work with any volunteer who would like to offer a program and needs supplies to complete.

By offering our program participants meaningful programming, we are boosting the value of our care and engage a stronger realtionship with the youth of our community.

For the volunteer

Qualifications: 

• Must be 18 years or older.
  
• Education major (or the like) prefered, but not required.
• Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.
  
• Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
  
• Previous experience with diverse populations preferred. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
  
• A background check will be performed for all volunteers.
