Description

What does the organization need?

Purpose: To assist the Membership and Healthy Living department in executing our programs for adults with disabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and grow relationship with our Group Agency partners.
  • Train in our program model to lead or assist in our project EXPAND.
  • Uses Listen First skills, creating an environment that encourages people to get involved in programs, volunteerism, and philanthropy, helping members/staff become advocates of the Y’s cause of strengthening community.
  • Provides excellent communication and service to project EXPAND participants and partners.

Training: Training, resources, mentor-ship, education, experience

Project EXPAND is literally about expanding this ideology to an undeserved population, disabled adults. Our program introduces wellness activities and education to the clients of our group agencies. Soon, we hope to grow this program for any and all adults within our community that live with a disability and would like to explore our Healthy Living programs and services.

Qualifications: 

  • Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to relate effectively and establish positive relationships with our diverse community.
  • Basic knowledge of computers.
  • 30/60 Day Training Schedule for new volunteers
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to use a computer and/or smart device.
  • Sit, reach, move around the environment, lift up to 10 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
