We are looking for 30 minute blocks to read to local classrooms. Our Goal is to share the importance and value of reading at a young age! This year we have 150 classrooms in Waterloo that will be taking part in Read Across America on March 6 (some March 5 dates).
The reading program is marked annually by Dr. Seuss’s birthday. Local volunteers will read books to students in a designated classroom for 30 minutes.The Cedar Valley Jaycees coordinate the program in the area. Nationally, the event is sponsored by the National Education Association.
