This discussion, hosted by COR at 220 East, will explore the concept of restorative justice. Restorative practices seek to address the emotional, physical, and material impact of a crime through transformative encounters, authentic accountability, and intentional amends in order to foster rehabilitation, repair relationships and restore those impacted to a place of safety and healing.
You will also have the opportunity to learn more about how you can get involved through Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Dubuque's Jail & Prison Ministry program.
Anyone is welcome to attend the presentation and community forum on Monday, June 4 at 6:30 PM - 8 PM, however, volunteers must be at least 18 and complete training and paperwork (including background checks).
Volunteering is flexible. It depends on the clients' schedule and the volunteer's/volunteers' availabilities. Typically volunteers meet with the client once a week at a consistent time.
