Volunteers (ages 18+) are needed for directing traffic, conducting surveys, shrink-wrapping, and helping unload household chemicals & electronics from residents vehicles. A crew of 50-60 volunteers is needed to unload between 600 and 900 vehicles coming from all corners of Black Hawk County. So many hands (and muscles!) are needed to pull off this large community drop-off event!
The Household Hazardous Materials & Electronics Recycling Drop-off Event is co-sponsored by the Black Hawk County Solid Waste Management Commission, Waste Trac Education Team, City of Cedar Falls, and the City of Waterloo. The drop-off event will be held on Saturday, April 24th from 9am- 2pm, with volunteer training/check in starting at 7:45am.
Citizens interested in volunteering are asked to contact the Waste Trac Education Team (outreach arm of the solid waste commission) by Friday, April 16th to get on our volunteer list so adequate food & supplies can be ordered. Call (319) 266-8722 or email Volunteer Coordinator, Tammy Turner at tturner@blackhawkcounty.iowa.gov.

LOCATION CHANGE: The event will be held at the Cedar Falls Public Works Complex in Cedar Falls (2200 Technology Parkway). The spring event is typically in Waterloo, but due to construction at the Waterloo site, the City of Cedar Falls has graciously offered to host the drop-off event at 2200 Technology Parkway, CF.
