Open Volunteer Day at Cedar Bend Humane!
No training required
Would you like a volunteer opportunity where you would work around animals? On Sept 20th, Cedar Bend Humane Society will be opening its campus to 20 volunteers to perform various tasks around the shelter.
Open volunteer hours will be between 9a-4p. This is a drop in opportunity. You may volunteer for the whole day or just a few hours.
Tasks
Tasks will vary depending on what needs to be done at the time you arrive. Common tack maybe:
- Sorting cans and bottles
- Cleaning kennels and play yards
- Walking or bathing dogs
- Providing enrichment activities to cats and dogs
- Grounds cleaning
- Assisting with Paws food pantry.
Dress Code
For safety reasons, long pants and close-toed shoes with non-skid soles are required when working with animals. Due to most tasks taking place outside wear clothing suitable for the weather and that you do not mind getting dirty.
Animals Handling
You will be working near live animals and may also have the opportunity to work with them. Please provide a good email address so that our animal handling and protocol handout can be sent to you. You will never be forced to work with an animal you are not comfortable with.
Waiver
The attached waiver will need to be turned in at the time of arrival.
