Cedar Bend Humane Society's mission is P.E.T.S. Place. Educate. Teach. Shelter. CBHS is passionate about: Placing animals in lifelong, loving homes. Educating on the issues of humane care. Teaching responsible pet ownership. Sheltering the stray, neglected, and unwanted.

The Cedar Bend Humane Society provides a number of services vital to Black Hawk County and surrounding communities including pet adoption services, dog and cat boarding at the Mutt Hutt, community low-cost vaccination and spay and neuter clinics, rescue for injured and abandoned animals, educational programs for school children, volunteer and pet fostering programs, pet lost and found services, and animal control for rural Black Hawk County.
