To install of new landscaping material, trees and plants for a brand-new playground being installed at St. Timothy Preschool & Childcare, which is the only childcare center in Hudson that serves 80 children a day who range in age from 18 months through 11 years of age.
Under the guidance of a skilled landscaper, dig holes (maybe operate a tree auger) and plant 30 trees, plant 75 shrubs, perennials and grasses. Operate a landscaping edging machine. Carry and put in place 120 feet of edging bricks. Operate lawn and garden tractors or use shovels and rakes to move and spread 20 cu yards of mulch, and 30 cu yards of pea gravel. Clean up and bag twigs and rock debri prior to planting and landscaping. Sweep and clean up concrete patios and trike track from prior construction and installation.
Experience in operating machinery by some of the volunteers is preferred. Volunteers should have the ability to work outdoors, bend, lift and carry potentially heavy items. Background checks may be required.
