Who We Are
NextGen Climate is committed to fighting climate change through political action to preserve American health and prosperity for future generations. Here in Iowa, farms and rural towns are already feeling the impact of climate change in their wallets and on their land, with record floods coming on the heels of a record drought.
NextGen Climate Iowa is here to empower our state’s voters where it matters most: at the polls. Our team is hitting the streets and listening to folks like you to help us #WinOnClimate. We’re here to show polluters and special interests that Iowa’s future is not for sale.
What We Do
We have many activities that take place in Waterloo and Cedar Falls. On a daily basis we make phone calls at our office, write letters in support of clean energy to the local newspaper, plan fun events in the community, register voters, and give back. We have formed partnerships with the Jesse Cosby Neighborhood Center, Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity, Boys and Girls Club of Cedar Valley, The Wesley Foundation, and we have a large campus organization at the University of Northern Iowa. We have volunteer opportunities for any age range. Activities take place Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., 1 p.m.- 4 p.m., and 4 p.m.- 8 p.m.
