Western Home Communities is a charitable Christian service organization that assertively creates fulfilling lifestyles for seniors, their families and our employees.

Western Home Communities is a Continuous Care Retirement Community offering active lifestyle residences as well as retirement communities for independent living, assisted living, nursing facilities and a dementia specific assisted living residence. The Evangelical United Brethern church established the home in 1912 as a retirement community for their retired clergy. The home was located further west than any of their other homes, which is how it became known "The Western Home." The original building now houses the Stanard Family Assisted Living Center at 11th and Grove St. in Cedar Falls. In the last 100 years Western Home Communities has grown to include not just the original building, but a skilled nursing center at the same location, a retirement community adjacent to the original building and four retirement communities, an assisted living center, Villas and town homes on 100+ acres in the 5100-5300 blocks of South Main Street in Cedar Falls. Western Home Communities provides residences for close to 800 residents and is staffed with 500 employees. Western Home Communities is an independent 501(c)(3) organization.
