Celebrating 50 years in 2025, North Star Community Services, a non-profit rehabilitative services agency serving Northeast Iowa and beyond, has been helping adults with a wide range of disabilities live enriched and empowered lives in the community. Whether it is a younger or older adult with a dream to work or live in the community, or someone who just wants to lead a more interactive and meaningful life - North Star is there to lend support and help create opportunities.

North Star has three locations at which to volunteer in Waterloo, depending upon where your interest lies. One at University Avenue serving adults with a wide range of ability, one on Tiffany Place, (off of Greenhill Rd.) serving those with age-related disabilities, and one off Canterbury Court, (off of Kimball Avenue) for those with an acquired traumatic brain injury, and others in need of a quieter, smaller setting.. There is also a program in Waverly.
