Family Management Credit Counselors--Housing & Education Division

The mission of Family Management Credit Counselors is to provide comprehensive financial counseling and debt management services to assist persons in developing and maintaining a budget, reducing debt, saving money, and ultimately making good financial decisions.

Family Management Credit Counselors strives to assist persons in obtaining safe and affordable housing, as well as assisting families who are experiencing delinquency or foreclosure. Our focal point is to educate and assist disabled, elderly, immigrants, and other low-to-moderate income persons on home ownership and/or renting, as well as providing comprehensive budgeting and financial management services. In addition, Family Management has realized the need for affordable, safe and sanitary rental housing in the Waterloo community. In order to achieve this, we are acquiring and rehabbing existing properties and renting them to low to moderate income families. In addition, we may offer these properties as a lease to own so that we can help people realize their dream of home ownership. Family Management has been in the Cedar Valley for 50+ years. We became a non-profit entity in 1992 and a HUD approved housing counseling agency in 1996. Our primary mission, as you can see above, is to assist people with their financial situations. What we have realized in doing this over many years, is that low to moderate income families have a difficult time renting a safe and sanitary home because of their level of affordability, so we decided to take action.
