Friends of KHKE/KUNI

A fundraising and friend-raising non-profit for Iowa Public Radio with a primary mission to help bring art and culture to the broadcasting area of KHKE/KUNI which is the music hub and arm of Iowa Public Radio. Ruling since 1975 we are the only fundraising effort outside of Iowa Public Radio itself.

We traditionally hold one annual Fundraising/Friend-raising music event at Electric Park Ballroom that books Nationally known bands and give 100% of the proceeds to Iowa Public Radio. Smaller events in the Cedar Falls area typically only happens once or twice a year with local or regionally touring bands. The Friends Board also commits to other endowments and offerings that support all of IPR or the station office located in Cedar Falls.
