Volunteer: EXPAND Program Asst.What does the organization need?
Purpose: To assist the Membership and Healthy Living department in executing our programs for adults with disabilities. Responsibilities: Develop and grow relationship with our Group Agency partners. Train in our program model to lead or assist in our project EXPAND. Uses Listen First skills, creating an environment that encourages people to get involved in programs, volunteerism, and philanthropy, helping members/staff become advocates of the Y’s cause of strengthening community. Provides excellent communication and service to project EXPAND participants and partners.Training: Training, resources, mentor-ship, education, experience How will this help the organization? Purpose: To engage with students after school through purposeful programming to build achievement, belonging and relationships. Responsibilities: Be available for activites, conversations, and mentoring relationships as available throughout the school year. Developing and implementing programming within the established guidelines.Nurture children through purposeful programming to build achievement, belonging and relationships. Visits by volunteers would be prearranged with site lead. Programming will need to be authorized by YD Developement department Training: We will work with any volunteer who would like to offer a program and needs supplies to complete. How will this help the organization? Impact of assignment: By offering our program participants meaningful programming, we are boosting the value of our care and engage a stronger realtionship with the youth of our community. Benefits to volunteer: -Creative Freedom-The chance to form meaning relationships -Gain experience for your class or your career advancement with conceiving and implementing an educational program For the volunteer Qualifications: Must be 18 years or older.Education major (or the like) prefered, but not required. Relationship building and activities with the kids (i.e. games, arts/crafts, wellness activities, etc.) Homework Lab, tutoring You may participate with all 3 or choose 1-2 as your mentor-ship. Training: Resources for support will be provided as well as Volunteer training. How will this help the organization? Impact of assignment: We strive to create meaningful relationships with the students in our afterschool program. Mentors are an intrigual part in creating and more-over maintaining those relationships. Benefits to volunteer: You will be able to work with all types of elementary students in a meaningful and independent way. For the volunteerQualifications: Must be atleast 18 years or older Background checks will be performed prior to your authorization as a volunteerSafety Protocols: Will be discussed during our Volunteer training.
