Needs From: Volunteer Center of Cedar Valley

The Friends of the Cedar Falls Public Library are looking for volunteers to photograph events and activity at the Cedar Falls Public Library.  This can be done on an occasional basis on the volunteer's schedule.

Purpose/Objective:

The purpose of this position is to facilitate activities that promote literacy, develop the love of reading, and support the public library and the use of its resources .

Key Responsibilities:

If selected for the position, the volunteer would attend monthly Board meetings and serve as an active participant on a subcommittee of the volunteer's choosing. Attend the organization's annual meeting.

Qualifications:

Any adult citizen of the Cedar Valley who is a paid member (no minimum investment specified) in the Friends of the Library organization with a love of reading and learning. The volunteer should have strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. This opportunity is accessible to those with disabilities. We seek to be a diverse board.

Leadership Opportunity:

Volunteers should seek to expand community knowledge of the library and its resources. Volunteers may organize functions that support the library and its programs financially.
