Assist visitors in celebrating the life and times of Theodor Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss. With over 60 published books during his career, Dr. Seuss had an impact on generations of children with classics such as Horton Hears a Who, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Green Eggs and Ham, and of course, The Cat in the Hat. Visitors will explore some of his classics of children’s literature, as well as his days working for the United States Army animation department during World War II, which included an Academy Award for best Documentary Feature in 1947.
This volunteer activity takes place at the Grout and Sullivan Brothers Iowa Veterans Museums.
