National History Day is an exciting academic enrichment program that helps students learn about historical issues, ideas, people and events as they develop research, thinking and communication skills. the program culminates in a series of competitions that allow students to showcase their research in one of five project categories. This year's theme is "Taking a Stand in History". Students participate at a district level and can advance to state and national events.
After laboring on their projects for months, young historians are eager to share their research and interact with someone about their conclusions. that's where you come in!
Becoming a National History Day judge is where you come in! The only qualifications you need are to be a good listener, like young people and be ready to be impressed. Packets explaining the judging process and containing the criteria as well as sample judging questions will be mailed to you in advance. A judges' informational sessions will be held prior to the competition each day.
Please help make this a valuable learning opportunity for AEA 267 students by becoming a judge. Let them "wow" you with their experiences and their capabilities. It's a day you will truly enjoy!
Junior Division (Grades 6-8) approximate judging time is Friday, March 24, 8:30am - 11:30 am.
