What does the organization need?
Purpose:
The Cedar Falls Historical Society is seeking responsible, reliable, enthusiastic, and personable hosts to staff our Ice House Museum on weekend afternoons.
Responsibilities:
• Greets visitors and welcomes them to the Museum.
• Collects admission and gift shop proceeds (cash or check payments) from customers; making change for cash customers.
• Answers questions from visitors
Training Provided:
Volunteers will complete a training and orientation session in order to volunteer at the Ice House Museum. The Volunteer Coordinator is on call to help the volunteer troubleshoot unusual circumstances.

Impact of assignment:
Volunteers at the Ice House Museum are supporting our vision of educating people about and celebrating the history of Cedar Falls.
Museum hosts allow us to extend our open hours into the weekend.

Qualifications:
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Friendly and helpful attitude
• Reliability and responsibility are essential
• A general understanding of, and an ability to communicate, the history of the Ice House Museum
• A general understanding of, and an ability to communicate, the Cedar Falls Historical Society’s mission
• Prior cashier experience is helpful
• Volunteers age 18 and older are welcome
• Volunteers must complete the Ice House host training orientation to volunteer in the position
Dates needed: Saturdays and/or Sundays in May to mid-October
