Participants will canoe the Cedar River and pick up garbage. Garbage may be heavy, wet, submerged, dirty, and sharp. There is also an opportunity for volunteers to clean on the shoreline of the inputs.
Anyone under the age of 18 needs to be with an adult. Please wear long sleeves, pants, and closed toed shoes. Hats, sun screen, and bug spray are also highly recommended. Life vests, paddles, canoes, gloves, and buckets will be provided. Follow us on Facebook for any updates.
Lunch will be provided following the clean up. We highly encourage volunteers to bring their own tableware to make our event more sustainable. Registration begins at 7:30 in Gilbertville with the shuttle leaving at 8:30 for Deerwood Park. The clean up with take place on approximately 7.5 miles on the Cedar River.
