Christmas Store - Calling and Scheduling Neighbors in Need We are seeking individuals and small groups of faith to call back Christmas Store applicants to verify number of children, contact information, and schedule which location and time fits their schedule. We will serve approximately 700 families in need with Christmas gifts for their children. We offer prayer at the close of the phone call. A script is provided and all information will be reviewed and scheduled on a computer. Phone calls take approximately 5-10 minutes each. Staff members will be present to assist. Individuals can volunteer between the hours of 9-3pm, groups can volunteer between the hours of 4-7pm. Volunteers can sign up with this link, via VCCV, or contact us at info@loveinccv.org.

Volunteer: Mattress Delivery Team

Purpose

Bring a team to pick up and deliver donated furniture items to clients in the community

 

Responsibilities

Complete orientation and agree to follow volunteer policies pertaining to the area of community service being provided Load and unload mattresses from donor’s homes & our warehouse and deliver them to client’s homes Communicate gratitude to all donors Listen and pray with clients during the drop off appointments, if appropriate Communicate with the Connection Center Coordinator regarding the status of your volunteer experience after service completed Collect client signature on Love INC release forms and return office copy to Love INC Communicate extended times you are unavailable to serve in your volunteer role to the Programming Manager Maintain client confidentiality Maintain a positive attitude with staff, volunteers and clients

Purpose

Engage clients over the phone in a conversation to discuss client needs, set appointments at partner churches, and offer encouragement.

 

Responsibilities

Complete intake training and attend on-going Clearinghouse training opportunities Check client’s eligibility for services Return intake calls from the queue in the correct chronological order Gather and record vital information regarding client’s needs and life circumstances.  Attempt to determine root causes for client’s struggles.  Clearly summarize client’s needs on the Intake Form, fill out or update the Household Permanent Record Form, and complete appropriate appointment forms.  Verify all information relevant to meeting the client need (for example, doctor’s appointment for a gas card) If we are unable to meet a need, refer clients to other appropriate agencies or services Review information gathered during the intake and confirm that the time and dates of appointments match what is listed on the Google Appointment sheet. Maintain client confidentiality Pray with clients over the phone Maintain a professional attitude with staff and other volunteers Communicate planned absences with Clearinghouse Coordinator Keep volunteer time record on the scheduling calendar
