- Contact former clients and fill in our FOF’s Housing Retention Survey

Volunteer: Fostering For Hope Caregiver

Do you love animals and want to provide a safe and healthy environment for the animal while their owner is unable to due to their housing situation? 

 

Job Description: 

Responsible for the temporary care of animals in need of emergency housing.  Provide for all animal’s needs (i.e. feedings, exercise, cleaning up, etc.).  Provide food, litter and other needs in the event that the owner or FOF cannot provide them.  Provide a safe and stable environment for the animal to live in while in your care.  Provide adequate care for the animal.

Job Requirements: 

Respect the owner’s wishes in regard to caring for the pet.  Agree to a nonphysical discipline style.  Display a compassionate nature, flexibility, and some knowledge of animal behavior.    Have the patient nature necessary to care for animals that are out of their usual surroundings.  If foster placement has pets of their own, those pets should be up to date on their shots and actively taking flea and tick preventatives to reduce the risk of transferring illnesses/fleas and ticks. Must be able to provide documentation of shots. 

Job Qualifications: 

Must be 18 years or older.  Must love animals.  Have a home or apartments that permits pets.  Possess the means and abilities required to care for foster animal.  Ability to foster for an average of 30 days or less with circumstantial extensions.
