The Grout Museum District needs help spreading the word about all the exciting things happening in the district!

Basic Information

The marketing department is seeking assistance in building meaningful connections with the community by posting flyers and delivering brochures around local coffee shops, community boards, and other businesses within the Cedar Valley. If you are looking to build relationships within the community as well as helping us spread the word about the programs within the Grout we would love to connect with you! Our programs can't exist without people knowing about them, so by being the feet of the Grout you have the opportunity to open the door to a world of history and imagination throughout the community!

Hours can be completely flexible to the volunteer. Regular business hours are Tuesday-Saturday 10am-5pm

Volunteer: Veteran Coffee Host

This opportunity allows individuals or groups to serve our local veterans through the Grout's Vets Coffee weekly program!Basic tasks:- Provide or purchase treats for 50-60 veterans and plate them- Brew coffee and boil water and fill carafes- Set napkins, plates, and cups out on the tables along with the carafes and sweeteners/creamer/tea baskets- Clean up after the event- Report any needs for supplies to staff

Additional Information: 

Time of arrival could be as early as 7:30a depending on whether the coffee was prepped with timers Tuesday afternoons. If it is prepped, volunteers can arrive 8:00a. Coffee attendees arrive starting at 9:00a and are here until noon. Clean up usually takes 30 minutes. Volunteers would not have to stay for the entire program, but could come back.This is a great opportunity for a service club, church group, or veteran advocate/family member(s) to work directly with our veterans community in a casual, low-pressure environment.

You don't need to be an expert—just dependable, willing to learn, and enthusiastic about supporting the museum's mission. Experienced volunteers and staff are available to provide guidance on projects as needed.

Shifts are flexible to the volunteer and museum needs. Groups are welcome as well as individuals who are ready to help the Grout preserve the beautiful history of our community.
