Who We Are
Green Iowa AmeriCorps seeks to empower Iowa's communities and school districts by making environmental, conservation-minded decisions and improvements by engaging our AmeriCorps members in direct service work, environmental education, professional development opportunities, and volunteer engagement.
What We Do
Members work to revive Iowa's lost or disappearing ecosystems and improve water quality throughout the state. Our outreach and education initiatives focus on proper land management practices, ecosystem revitalization, storm-water management, and pesticide reduction. Land & Water Steward members work directly with host sites across Iowa to carry out their environmental stewardship missions.
Volunteer activities can include trash cleanups, invasive species removal, tree planting, water quality testing, gardening, and much more.
