What We Do

About Cedar Valley Lodge #233 The Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF) is a fraternal organization that was founded in the United States in the 19th century. Its origins can be traced back to the 17th century in England. The IOOF aims to improve and elevate the character of humanity, and to promote the principles of friendship, love, and truth, through charitable works and social activities in our community. The Odd Fellows are a non-political and non-sectarian organization who believe that by working together, we can make a positive difference in the world. Many well-known Cedar Falls residents have shared our principles through the years, including two gentlemen named Overman (Park) and Pfeiffer (Springs). Cedar Valley Lodge #233 is a 501c(8) non profit organization that has called 402 W. 2nd Street our home since 1923. Membership is open to both men and women, and its members come from a wide range of backgrounds and professions. Overall, the IOOF is a community-focused organization that seeks to promote fellowship, charity, and goodwill among its members and the wider community.
